Philippine Languages

I was born in the Philippines and I still did not know all the languages and dialects. It is not like our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal he has tons of dialects learned. Anyway, i found this through Mr. Wiki the translation of our national proverb or "salawikain" in tagalog.

English - He who does not (know how to) look back at his past (where he came from) will not reach his destination.

Tagalog - Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makararatíng sa paroroonan.

Bisaya/Cebuano - Kadtong dili molingi sa iyang gigikanan, dili makaabot sa iyang gipadulongan.

Bicolano (Bulan, Gubat, Irosin, Matnog, Sta Magdalena, Bulusan) - An diri maaram mag-imud sa pinaghalian, diri makaabot sa pakakadtu-an.

Ilokano (standard) - Ti saanna ammo a tumaliaw iti naggapuanna ket saan a makadanon iti papananna.

Hiligaynon ("Ilongo") - Kon sin-o ang indi makahibalo magbalikid sang iya ginta-uhan, indi makaabot sa iya padulungan.

Kinaray-a - Ang indi kamaan magbalikid sa ana ginhalinan, indi makaabot sa ana paaragtunan.

Manobo (Obo) - Iddos minuvu no konnod kotuig nod loingoy to id pomonan din, konna mandad od poko-uma riyon tod undiyonnan din.

Spanish - Quien no vira la cara a su orígen, no puede llegar a su destino.

Surigaonon - Adon dili mahibayo molingi sa ija ing-gikanan, dili gajod makaabot sa ija pasingdan.

Waray-Waray - An diri maaram lumingi ha tinikangan, diri maulpot ha kakadtoan.

Facts About Philippines

Do you know that Filipinos are unique because of our four heritage like the indigenous Asian, European, Latin, and American heritage. Philippines is one of the richest countries of the world because of our fertile soil capable of producing crops like rice, coconut, corn, tobacco, and other products. We have a tropical climate in which it is healthful to all the people who come, visit and live in the Philippines. We have rich natural resources like the forests, energy resources, mines with gold and other minerals, fisheries, and very abundant in plants and animals. That is why I am very proud to be a Filipino.

Philippine The Unique Nation

Philippines is a unique country with so much richness that we need to discover. When i was in school i taught learning our history is not that important but when someone in my son's school appointed me to represent Philippines I am embarrass to myself because I only learn a little in my own country. It is a sad fact but I will try my best to represent our country and be proud of it. Why Philippines is a unique country? Well, Philippines  is a Christian country with over 90% and the rest are Muslims & other beliefs. Imagine we have 55 languages and 48 of them are the major ones and 142 dialects including mine which is "CEBUANO". We also have 7,100 islands and Luzon is the biggest and Mindanao is second. just think of it Philippines is almost as big as the country Italy also bigger than New Zealand and twice bigger than Greece then much bigger than Britain. Wow! Philippines really a big country. Are you a Filipino? Be proud of it and discover the beauty of your homeland.
